topped the Jefferson Park Penguins by the slimmest of margins, 3 to
2.
Tampico did all the necessary damage in the 8th inning scoring 3 runs using 3
hits. Jose Cruz Jr opened up the inning nicely when he doubled. Felipe
Lopez struck out, unable to help the rally. Jeff Bagwell then laced a
one-base hit. Hideki Matsui was the next batter, but he struck out. Carl
Everett came to the plate and rifled a three-run blast (his 4th of the
season). Tampico had just 6 hits for the afternoon.
Dan Miceli(3-1) got the win allowing no runs in 2/3 of an inning. Miceli got
help from Jason Frasor who earned his 17th save. Greg Aquino(1-2) was given
the loss in relief. He pitched 2/3 of an inning giving up 1 hit and no
walks.
